Rapid Ray’s – Saco, Maine: A Landmark in downtown Saco for more than 50 years, Rapid Ray’s started out as a lunch van in the early 50’s. Over the years the vans got bigger and bigger until, in 1986 a custom designed fast food restaurant on a confined in-town site while providing for continued use of existing facility during construction. “A landmark building for a landmark establishment”. |

| China House – Saco, Maine: The original China House was level by fire. The City and Owner wanted something completely different. Design/Build Open Book was the answer. The building design, planning board approval and construction of a new 4,700 sf restaurant including the extensive commercial kitchen, increased seating, plumbing, HVAC, Electrical and a complete sprinkler system was completed as a Design Build project. | ![]() |
| VIP Discount Auto Parts – Scarborough, Maine: Originally Happy Wheels, the owner contracted with Trades Center in 1990, to a Design/Build renovated the 20,000 foot space to become Bob’s Discount. In 1996 the owner again contracted with Trades Center to renovate the space for VIP Discount Auto Parts. The work included a multi-car drive thru maintenance bay, extensive exterior changes and adapting the existing roof structure and slope for the VIP entrance. | ![]() |
| 5 Points Shopping Center – Biddeford, Maine: Starting in 2005, Trades Center has been working with the new owner to revitalize this complex. In addition to the façade upgrade which included a 40’ clock tower, the Goodwill Store included a structural addition and complete interior renovation and matching façade. Trades Center also renovated spaces for Biddeford Pizza and Sears, along with earlier work at Planet Fitness, Sherwin Williams and Cines 8 Theater. | ![]() |
| Peoples Choice Credit Union – Sanford Branch: Similar to the Wells Branch, also built by Trades Center, this 2,922 sf bank branch has 3 drive thrus, an ATM , night drop, and vault system. Due to the nature of the site a series of retention ponds, swales and underground storm water containment was used to control water run off. Ceramic tile and carpeting, wood wainscot paneling and a fireplace accents the interior. This was a Design/Build Open Book project. | ![]() |
| Southern Maine Oral Surgery – Windham, Me: Having worked with SMOMS before building the Biddeford office, the Design/Build Open Book process was used again. This time a turn key project in Windham. This 5,200 sf oral surgery office is on a concrete bar joist floor system over a full storage basement. The surgical suites, labs and recovery areas are supported by med gases, vacuum and plumbing, along with advanced mechanical and electrical services. | ![]() |
